Kallang River Bishan
Park. Costing approximately $76 million over a period of 2 years, the
flagship project, Kallang River Bishan Park is part of the Active Beautiful
Clean Waters (ABC Waters) programme from Singapore's water authority PUB, that
is done in collaboration with the National Parks Board. As you go for a stroll
along the riverside, pause for a moment as you breathe in the fresh air, to
take in the full splendid view of the tranquil and natural environment.
If you would open your senses to what the environment has to offer to you, you will be surprised to see the pretty dragon-flies flitting lazily along the riverbed, hear the nearby cheerful frogs croaking their lungs away in welcome of your arrival. This 3 km naturalised river that sustains all these intricate biodiversity is also part of Singapore’s 4 national tap strategies to ensure the sustainability of our water supply. As a local catchment area, all the water in the river will flow towards Marina Reservoir at the end of its journey. Hence, it is important for us to learn to treasure our precious water resource, to keep it clean, so that we can continue to have clean, drinkable water.
With regards to the safety of the river, not to worry, there is also a comprehensive water level warning system being put into place to ensure the safety of the public.
At Kallang River Bishan Park, we have 11 “safety nodes” or “safety points” which consists of loud sirens that will broadcast public announcement and bright blinking lights when there is a significant increase of water level. All these safety features serves to keep park users abreast of the status of the river level. There are also life buoys contained within the safety node that will be readily accessible for in times of emergency.
The revamped Kallang River Bishan Park also offers many different
exciting leisure activities for the everyday park user. The children can look forward to the newly
designed water playground, with a mini sport
climbing wall for the adventurous youth, You can also cycle along the park as
you walk your pet along the new dog run. I am certain many of you have not seen
what a lotus looks like in their actual surrounding and the lotus pond would
certainly be a sight that would refresh the weary urban souls amongst us.

Hi 你好！我们刚刚认识了可爱的水大使 wally ,它告诉我们最近做了一个梦,梦见搬到了一个新家：加冷河碧山公园 kallang river Bishan Park- KRBP，而我们也很幸运成为了这里的公园大使呢！相信你也和我一样，带着好奇心想要认识这里的一切，今天真的是一个美好的开始 ：）
这是PUB公用事业局和 国家公园局共同耗资760万，费时约2年左右建成，已成为新加坡第一个将水泥沟渠转换成绿草映然的河道。
你知道吗？ 每一天我们都需要1kg 水和13.5 kg 空气，只要你愿意像我一样悠闲的漫步在公园里，你就会感受到这里舒服而清新的气息和自然的风光景色。
新鲜的氧对我们的血液循环有新陈代谢的作用，而溪水淙淙流过产生的负离子也将促进我们身体充满生气与活力.
只要你仔细注意，你会惊讶看到偶尔会出现的蝴蝶和蜻蜓，还有青蛙王子跳来跳去，这条河不只两岸绿意映然，不只小溪流水轻轻流过，更重要的它是我们生命的泉源，就是你我现在都有可能喝到的饮用水，所以我们要好好珍惜它，维护它的干净与美丽。
只要你仔细注意，你会惊讶看到偶尔会出现的蝴蝶和蜻蜓，还有青蛙王子跳来跳去，这条河不只两岸绿意映然，不只小溪流水轻轻流过，更重要的它是我们生命的泉源，就是你我现在都有可能喝到的饮用水，所以我们要好好珍惜它，维护它的干净与美丽。
这条小河的安全是可以放心的，因为我们建立了一个非常稳妥的警报系统，当倾盆大雨时,就自动会有红色的讯号灯不停闪烁，让你提高警惕快速远离河道，河岸还备有救生圈以备万一
这里有许多好玩的地方: 小孩子的儿童乐园和水池，年轻人喜欢的攀爬设施，老人家漫步走的踏板走道，还可以健身，慢跑，骑脚踏车, 你也可以带着心爱的小狗到宠物园遛狗，还有莲花池畔，莲花出淤泥而不染, 感觉很新鲜吧！而长达 2.7 kg 的河道穿过园区缓缓注入贝雅士蓄水池，也就是我们全体新加坡人生命的饮水池。
